Invitation

You can use construction papers to make an air ticket for your airplane party invitation and write your child first name as the company name of the airline (e.g. Alice airline). Alternatively you can use a computer to design the air ticket and logo for the airline and print it out as an invitation card.

To make the invitation card look like a real airplane boarding pass, you can put all the information that needed to board a plane at the front page of the airplane invitation card. You can write the guess name, departure time (party start time), gate number (your house number), flight number and seat number. Than write the party information at the back of the invitation card. To make it interesting, you can write your invitation in this way: “This ticket is non-transferable. Please confirm your flight with Alice (your child name) airline at phone number by dd/mm/yyyy. Your flight will depart from Airport name Gate number located at (party address).”

You can also create e-ticket, design an e-ticket and write all the party information like the above and saved it to a pdf file to upload to a web site and email to all your invited guesses to download from the web site to bring it to the party. Alternatively, you can send the e-ticket as an attachment to your invitation email to your invited guesses.

Airplane Party Decoration

Have chairs arranged into 2 to 3 rows to make it look like the seats in an airplane facing towards the TV and stick number to every seat. You can ask one of your helper to station at the front door to wait for your guess to arrive. When they arrived, check their airplane tickets (Invitation cards). Let them check-in their luggage (presents and bags) and put their luggage at a corner of the party place tag with guess names. Have another helper wear in air stewardess uniform of an airline at the entrance of the party place. Check their seat numbers printed at their invitation cards and direct them to their seats after they deposit their luggage. Turn On the TV for the guess and serve them drinks and finger food on a tray while they watch the TV and wait for the rest of the guess to arrive.

You can also fold origami airplane to hand around the party place, hang some aviation posters on the wall and have lot of airplane balloons around for your party decoration.

Party Games

Pin the pilot
Draw or have poster of a big airplane with pilot sitting at the cockpit and hang it up on the wall. When the game start, each player will take turn to be blind folded and walk to the poster and stick their stickers on the poster. Player who managed to stick at the pilot is the winner.

Pilot Says
A deviation of popular Simon say game. Choose a kid from the players to be the leader, he/she will say “Pilot says” and give a command, the rest will have to follow the leader command (hop, jump or clap hang) to do the action. If the leader did not says “Pilot Says” before the command and the player follow the leader, the player will be out of the game. The last person who still left at the game is the winner.

Airplane Flying Competition
Give each guess some origami paper to fold airplane or aircraft and write their name on the airplane that they have fold. All the players will stand behind a straight line to get ready to fly their paper plane. Once the whistle blow, all the players will throw their paper airplanes into the air and watch whose airplane landed at the longest distance will be the winner. Instead of competing the distance, you can also compete on whose paper airplane can fly the longest in the air which also mean the last airplane that landed on the ground will be the winner. This game is best play outdoor so that the airplanes have more space to fly

Fighter Airplane Recognition
You can surf the web for fighter plane or airplane pictures taken at different angle and distance, save the pictures and burned to a CD to play it at a DVD player. Before you start the game give each child a pen and paper. Than you flash your fighter plane picture at the TV and allowed each picture to stay at about 4 second before you flash to the other picture. All players will have to recognize the fighter jet and write down the model of the aircraft on the paper within the 4 seconds.
